What is Reiki?

Rei = Universal  /  Ki  = Life force energy

Reiki is an energy therapy where the reiki energy (which is the universal life force energy) flows from my hands to you as you lay down and relax.

Universal Life Force Energy — what is it?
All living things — be it an animal, plant or human — have essentially the same energy flowing through us, keeping us alive.

How does it work?

This energy has an innate intelligence, which is a term used to describe its natural ability to organise, maintain functioning and restore health.

An example of this is when you cut your cut finger. All you have to do is make sure the cut is clean. There’s no need for you to will your body to heal the cut. The innate intelligence of the Life inside you knows there’s something that requires attention, to be restored to health, and so will go there to heal it.

When you have a reiki session, the innate intelligence of the reiki energy (i.e. life force energy) knows where to go and what to do for whatever you require most at the time. The cool thing is that it goes to all levels of a person: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

Physically, reiki assists the natural process of healing to occur more quickly, and can relieve aches and pains. Emotionally, mentally and spiritually it clears blockages to allow energy to flow and restore balance.

The most common effect of reiki is a feeling of inner peace and calm.

Will it work for me?
Ultimately, what this means is that reiki is able to assist with almost anything.

Every person is different, so every person will have a different result. For some people, the changes are immediate and obvious. For others the shifts that happen are less noticeable, because the shift that’s occurred has been one of clearing a negative thought, yet they do notice that somehow that something is different.
